I painted this after visiting Las Vegas in 2023. The vivid luxury of the city thriving in a vast desert inspired me. The green, resilient succulent stands for the vitality and strength of our society, while the surrounding red rocks are the valley’s fire encircling it. I felt like it had a strong contrast between how much of a heaven it is in Las Vegas compared to the hell like environment the moment you step out.
